Pole position for 2012 Dubai 24hr race

FF Corse supported Ferrari 458 GT3 takes pole position and leads race

LRDSC02824.jpg

The FF Corse supported Ferrari 458 GT3 driving team of Rob Barff, Leon Price, Jordan Grogor and Charlie Hollings, took pole position for last weekend’s grueling Dubai 24hr race, ahead of grid of 73 starting entries.

The race marked the International debut in a 24hr race for the FF Corse team. And a qualifying lap time of 2:02.092, set by Rob Barff in the second session, was good enough to take pole position and lead the race against a grid of very strong and Internationally renowned competition.

LRDSC02815.jpgLRDSC02829.jpgLRDSC02819.jpg

As the car headed into darkness the team looked very well placed to secure a great result.

Unfortunately disaster struck 5hrs in and after 142 laps.

Following a collision whilst lapping a slower car, the gearbox internals and a driveshaft became damaged.

The result of which left the car with no drive to the rear wheels. The #12 car was out and the dream of a debut victory was in tatters.

FF Corse: Aero Kit Launched for Ferrari 458 Challenge

Carbon Aero-Kit eligible for Ferrari Open, GT Cup, Britcar & British GT

LRDSC02824.jpg

FF Corse have released their 2012 carbon GTC Aero Kit for the Ferrari 458 Challenge and are now taking orders for the kits for forthcoming race season.

The kit, developed during last season, has been designed in-house by FF Corse and builds upon the knowledge gained from developing the race winning Ferrari 430 GTC aero kits.

The update kits are eligible for UK Ferrari Open, GT Cup, Britcar & British GT Championships amongst others.

The aero kit helps make the car considerably more stable and easier to drive closer to the limit than the standard Ferrari 458 Challenge. The grip on the front and rear, along with the overall balance of the car, has been significantly improved. As a direct result the lap times have also been dramatically improved over the standard car.

During testing on the Silverstone National (1.6 miles) circuit the FF Corse run car of Gary Eastwood, using old tyres and standard dampers, lapped over 1 second per lap quicker than previous qualifying times. This is expected to equate to a 2-3 sec. per lap difference on the longer circuits and when fitted with FF Corse race dampers further improvements are expected.

The kit costs £11,979+VAT in carbon, excluding painting and fitting. FF Corse members qualify for a 10% discount on supply of the kit. Additional options include the supply of FF Corse developed adjustable dampers and race suspension.

For further information on the GTC aero kit and options please contact Ilan Manor, Telephone 01327 857601, or email [email protected]
