FF Corse supported the Injured Soldiers Charity Event at Brands Hatch last week. The event is organised by Gary Eastwood and supported by many of his friends and colleagues.

Four FF Corse cars and drivers (Gary Eastwood, Robert Macfarlane, Mark McAllister, Cliff Fox/Paul McNeilly) joined numerous other cars on hand to take injured soldiers, many of whom have just returned from Iraq and Afghanistan, for fast rides around the Brands Hatch Indy circuit. The event was a great success and FF Corse has received great feedback from the supported charities, The Not Forgotten Association and The Royal Marines Charitable Trust Fund.

FF Corse pre-season event confirmed at Portimao (PT)

The 2014 FF Corse pre-season overseas event will take place at the Portimao Circuit in the Algarve on 10th & 11th March. The two-day track hire is booked exclusively for a limited number of FF Corse members and invited guests. The track will operate throughout the two days with an open pit-lane and no restriction on mileage or running times.

The Circuit at Portimao is one of the most modern venues in Europe and due to its undulating layout, is a favoured European test track by many of the F1 teams. Autódromo Internacional do Algarve, commonly referred to as Portimao Circuit, is 4.692 km (2.915 mi) in length.

The trip includes 3 nights accommodation at the 5 star Le Meridien Penina Golf Resort, which is located 15 minutes from the Circuit. Podium in 2013 European Ferrari Challenge Finale Meeting

The Final rounds of the European Ferrari Challenge were held at Mugello in Italy this weekend and shown live on TV throughout Europe. FF Corse took cars to the event for Alex Martin, Rupert Martin & Sam Smeeth.

Alex Martin achieved a 3rd place Podium position in the final round of the European Ferrari Challenge Series, before taking a top 10 finish in the World Final – featuring drivers from the American and Asian Championships.

UK Ferrari Open driver Sam Smeeth made a stunning debut in the series and was immediately on the pace of the top European drivers in his first race with FF Corse. In race one he qualified in 6th position overall and achieved a very creditable 5th place finish in the top class (Trofeo Pirelli) against much more experienced European & world class opposition. Sam is now looking to participate in the full European Ferrari Challenge Championship in 2014.

Rupert Martin also had a successful event and rounded of the Championship with an 11th place in the final round having originally started 20th on the grid. In a very wet World Final yesterday Rupert looked set to repeat for a strong race after overtaking 6 cars on the first-lap before being caught out and ending up beached in the gravel and out of the race.

Pre-Season Lunch – RAC Club (Pall Mall)

Following the success of last years event, The RAC Club in Pall Mall has been chosen to host the FF Corse pre-season lunch for 2014.

The FF Corse members’ private dining lunch will take place in the Committee Room at the exclusive Royal Automobile Club, Pall Mall on Sunday February 16th and is the launch to the forthcoming season.

The RAC club was founded in 1897 by Frederick Richard Simms with the aim of encouraging the development of motoring in Britain and was seen as the perfect venue to launch the exciting 2014 season. It was awarded Royal title by King Edward VII in 1907, and is Britain’s oldest and most influential motoring organisation, the Club’s early years were focused on campaigning for the rights of the private motorist, introduction of the driving licence, along with staging the world’s first ever motor race.

Today the club operates as a private members Club and offers some truly amazing facilities, along with fantastic dining and banqueting facilities.

It is hoped as many FF Corse members and their guests will be able to attend and make the event a truly fabulous and social affair. Partners and guests are very welcome and the lunch is complimentary to all members.

If you would are able to attend the 2014 FF Corse pre-season lunch, please contact either Andy O’Dowd or Anthony Cheshire on [email protected]or 01327 857601.

FF Corse Supply Pirelli Tyres

FF Corse have teamed up with Pirelli to supply their latest Pirelli Trofeo R road legal track tyres directly from the factory. The Trofeo R is a high performance (treaded) track tyre developed and produced by the Pirelli Motorsport department primarily for track use, but also with road functionality. The tyres will be sold from next year through the introduction of a specialist web site www.corsetyres.com, providing dedicated advice, direct tyre sales and an easy to use tyre search facility. The website is already live and operational, with a full sales launch set to take place early next year.

The latest version of the Trofeo tyre (“R”) is designed to be fitted to the most powerful vehicles such as Ferrari, Porsche, Aston Martin, BMW & Lamborghini and is supplied in a limited range of sizes. It is manufactured to cope in extremely high-stress dry-asphalt conditions and as such the tyre is a market leader for providing extremely high-levels of friction, coupled with extraordinarily low wear rates.

Winter  & Track Tyre Storage Hotel – NEW
In addition to the Track Tyres, FF Corse can supply a wide range of other Pirelli tyre types and sizes, including competition, high-performance, road and now winter tyres . Increasingly the use of winter tyres in the UK is becoming more common and despite not being a legal requirement, unlike in many parts of Europe, the increased popularity has been significant over the last couple of years . The tyres provide more grip and improved safety in colder conditions, with optimum temperatures anywhere below 8 degrees Centigrade, the benefits for use in the winter months are clear to see.

However, despite the obvious benefits, the biggest problem has always been how to manage changing the tyres and what to do with the additional wheels and tyre during the summer period? We are now offering an FF Corse “tyre hotel” for the storing and managing of track, or winter specific wheels & tyres.

If you have any road, winter, or track tyres and wheels you require fitting, storing and managing, we can send out a technician with a replacement set of wheels and tyres and take away the current wheels for storage until they are next required. A full tyre supply and fitting service is also available from our Silverstone workshop.

Special discounted rates are available for members, along with a fitting service, technical support and advice, for further details please contact Ilan Manor on [email protected] or telephone 01327 857601

Autosport Magazine – BGT Season Review

The 2013 British GT Championship was reviewed in Autosport Magazine this week (Nov 7th) and gave the FF Corse team a great write-up.

In the article the team was described as the “surprise package of the 2013 Championship” having had a “phenomenal first season in the series” and “bested” the other Ferrari teams in the Championship.

Pro-driver Rob Barff was listed as the second best driver to stand out in the Championship and described as “easily the most impressive Ferrari driver”.

The reviews were due to the strong results which developed through the season and culminated in the Gary Eastwood and Rob Barff finishing on the podium for the last three races and outscoring every other driver-pairing over this period.
