GT Cup – Silverstone
GT Cup regulars John Seale & Jamie Stanley achieved a hat-trick of podium visits in the Silverstone GP round this weekend. This included a GTC victory in the Saturday pit-stop race and two second places in the Sunday sprint races.
The regular pairing were joined by Ron Johnson & Piers Johnson, making their FF Corse debut in the Ferrari 458 GT3. The experienced driver combination using the race meeting as valuable testing mileage for their planned outing in the car at the Donington British GT Championship finale next month. The pair notched up an impressive second place finish overall in the pit-stop race and Ron finished 4th & 5th in the sprint races on Sunday.
The next round of GT Cup is at Donington Park on September 20th & 21st.
Britcar Endurance Championship – Snetterton
The weekend before saw the David Mason/Calum Lockie Ferrari 458 Challenge GTC extending the lead in the Britcar Endurance Championship, after a fine solo drive by Calum Lockie. David was unfortunately forced to miss the event and Calum instead chose to drive solo through the race meeting.
Calum exceeded expectations and recorded a fine win overall in the first race and another class win in the second race to take maximum points from the weekend. Darren Nelson and Nigel Greensall also had a fantastic race weekend in the Ferrari 458 GT3 debut, finishing on the podium overall in both races and recording an impressive second in class each time.
The next round of The Britcar Endurance Championship is at Silverstone on September 20th.
