The Final rounds of the European Ferrari Challenge were held at Mugello in Italy this weekend and shown live on TV throughout Europe. FF Corse took cars to the event for Alex Martin, Rupert Martin & Sam Smeeth.
Alex Martin achieved a 3rd place Podium position in the final round of the European Ferrari Challenge Series, before taking a top 10 finish in the World Final – featuring drivers from the American and Asian Championships.
UK Ferrari Open driver Sam Smeeth made a stunning debut in the series and was immediately on the pace of the top European drivers in his first race with FF Corse. In race one he qualified in 6th position overall and achieved a very creditable 5th place finish in the top class (Trofeo Pirelli) against much more experienced European & world class opposition. Sam is now looking to participate in the full European Ferrari Challenge Championship in 2014.
Rupert Martin also had a successful event and rounded of the Championship with an 11th place in the final round having originally started 20th on the grid. In a very wet World Final yesterday Rupert looked set to repeat for a strong race after overtaking 6 cars on the first-lap before being caught out and ending up beached in the gravel and out of the race.
